SWEET T 52 was founded on Christmas Day 2019, launched from Winchester, Kentucky with a simple but meaningful purpose — to honor a remarkable man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
The store is named after our founder's younger brother, affectionately known as "Sweet T." A natural communicator with an extraordinary gift for words, Sweet T had a way of connecting with people that was truly one of a kind — so much so that he called his gift for conversation his "rap."
A 1967 graduate of Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) in North Carolina — where he first earned the nickname that would one day carry his legacy — Sweet T went on to dedicate years of his life to service. He joined the Peace Corps and spent three years in Afghanistan, making a difference far from home. His impact there was so profound that he even earned a mention in the book "Little Women of Baghlan" by Susan Fox.
SWEET T 52 is more than a store. It is a tribute to a life well lived, a spirit of generosity, and a reminder that the people who touch our lives deserve to be remembered.
