Sale

A portable jump starter that gets a dead battery going without a second car or a set of leads to another vehicle. 800A peak and 400A starting current covers most petrol engines up to 6.0L and diesels up to 3.0L, and an LCD shows how much charge is left before you need it rather than after.

Built-in protection

The unit guards against overcurrent, short circuit, overload, over-voltage and reverse connection. That last one matters most — clamping the leads the wrong way round is the common mistake when jump starting, and reverse-polarity protection is what stops it damaging the car or the pack.

The torch and emergency tools

Four flashlight modes: steady white, strobe, SOS, and a red-and-blue flash. Press the LED switch to cycle white, strobe, SOS and off; double-press for the red-and-blue flash, and double-press again to stop. The power switch must be set to ON before charging.

A compass and a safety hammer are built into the body, which is the sort of thing you never think about until a breakdown happens somewhere unlit.

In the box

Jump starter, battery clamps, USB cable, US plug charging cable, car charger cable and manual.

Shipping

Ships from China. Most orders arrive within 8 to 15 business days.

Please note

The supplier lists the battery as 28,000 mAh. A pack of that capacity would normally weigh more than the 437 g quoted for the whole unit, so we would treat the figure as optimistic rather than measured, and we are not going to repeat it as fact. The starting current and engine range are the numbers that determine whether it will start your car.

If you intend to fly with it, check the airline's limit first. Lithium packs are cabin-only and capacity-capped, and an unverified capacity figure is not something to rely on at a security desk.
