Why 108 beads

108 is the traditional count for a mala, used to keep track during recitation — one bead per repetition. It is also why the strand is long enough to wrap several times around the wrist or hang as a necklace: the length is set by the count rather than by the wrist.

About tiger eye

Tiger eye has chatoyancy — a band of light that shifts across the surface as the stone moves, the same effect that gives a cat's eye its name. Frosting the surface softens that shine to a matte finish while keeping the banding visible underneath.
